Read When His Eyes Opened By Simple Silence Chapter 254
“I’m sorry, Dr. Sanford,” Elliot said as he subdued his nerves. He had returned to his usual cold demeanor and added, “Last night was my mistake. I need some space.”
He left the room as he said that.
Zoe was frozen. She had thought that her tears might make him sympathize with her and that Elliot would take her into his arms and comfort her.
Why on earth was he still acting so cold? Why did he take off?
He had not behaved that way with Avery.
Zoe wiped her tears off her face. Though she was heartbroken, at least there was a silver lining. She looked at her phone and called Cole.
“I’ve succeeded,” said Zoe.
“Congratulations, Dr. Sanford! Let me know if I can be of any help in the future. I’ll be here for you,” said Cole with a laugh.
A sourness tinged her tongue when she heard Cole say that. If only Elliot was as obedient as Cole. “Tell me, do I look like a man? Your uncle has never once batted an eye in my presence,” said Zoe. “He had no reaction even when he saw me n***d.”
Cole laughed even harder when he heard that, “My uncle is abnormal! Dr. Sanford, he should seek medication as he’s the sick one.”
Zoe thought that he was mocking Elliot, and she said sadly, “He was completely normal last night when he was with Avery!”
“Oh…” Cole lowered his voice and said, “No man can refuse Avery. She is a real beaute.”
“Did you just say I’m not as pretty?” Zoe asked.
“No, Dr. Sanford! You have a great body and a pretty face. Both of you are beautiful! I mean, maybe, men prefer Avery who’s more seductive yet innocent-”
Zoe hung up. She did not need to hear more.
She knew Avery was younger and prettier than her. She did not need Elliot’s heart as long as he was physically hers.
In another room of the hotel, Chad woke up and looked for his glasses. He felt a warm body next to him, and he gasped, “Who’s that?”
He had too much to drink. He could not remember how he had gotten here. He needed to look for his glasses so that he could see what was going on.
Mike yawned and kicked him with his leg and said, “What the h**l are you waking so early for? It’s the weekend!”
“Where are my glasses? Where did you hide them?” Chad could see the shadow that was moving in front of him.
“Why would I want your glasses for? Just say it if you want my help! Say please! If you just say please-” Chad kicked Mike down the bed before he could finish his sentence.
“You shameless pr*ck! Why are you on my bed?” said Chad fuming with anger. “D**n it! I was going to ask how did you end up in my bed! I can’t remember a thing since last night as I got too drunk,” Mike got hold of Chad’s collar and they fought on the bed.
Avery was woken by a phone call. She had spent the night on a bench at the bus stop. She heard her phone and answered the call. Her fingers were cold as they brushed against her ears.
Avery had a fever.
“Avery, they beat me up again!” howled Mike. “I slept with Chad last night as I was drunk! How could they put the blame on me if I can’t remember a thing?”
Avery held up her head and breathed in deeply, “If you think you’re innocent, just call the cops this time.”
