When His Eyes Opened By Simple Silence Chapter 555

Read When His Eyes Opened By Simple Silence Chapter 555

Coming out of the inpatient unit, Mike looked around, but he did not see Avery anywhere.

In his despair, he called Elliot. “Elliot, come to the hospital quickly! I lost Avery!”

Elliot immediately rushed out of the mansion. “What happened?”

“Wesley’s mother had a private talk with her. I’m sure she must have said something to Avery!” Mike was in the huge hospital yard, and he was frantically looking around for Avery. “It’s my fault! I was talking to Wesley in his ward and that was when she must have left!”

Elliot furrowed his brows tightly. “She couldn’t have gone far. Keep watch of the entrance!”

Avery had exited the lift and had been aimlessly walking around the outpatient building. There were a lot of seats there, and she was tired. So, she found a seat and sat down.

All around her were patients or their families. She saw a couple bringing in their sick child to see the doctor.

“I already told you that I don’t want this child, but you insisted! Look at us now! We have to come here every few days just to get her treated. Don’t you know that I’m very busy! This is the last time that I’m coming with you to the hospital!” said the man. He was sitting in a chair and berating his wife who was carrying the child.

“I don’t want the child to be sick. What is the use in blaming me? This is your child too. If you don’t come with me the next time, I won’t come either. Let her d*e!”

“Okay, then let her d*e! We don’t have to see the doctors today either!” The man said and stormed off!

The woman stood rooted to the spot clutching the child to her. In the end, she gave up, set the child down, and left.

Avery looked at the abandoned baby. She felt the b**n in her eyes, and she went to the chair, intending to pick the wailing baby up.

“Don’t touch my baby!” shrieked the mother as she returned for the child.

Avery saw her take her child away. The entire scene caused a feeling of deep sorrow to spring up within her.

“Avery!”

She heard a voice yelling out her name. It sounded close. She looked in the direction of the voice and saw Elliot running to her. Anxiety creased his face.

When he was in front of her, he took her tightly into his arms. “Avery, you did not cause Wesley’s injuries. Don’t listen to what others say.”

“Hmm.” Avery looked at Elliot’s sleep-deprived face. She looked down. “Let’s go.”

Elliot picked her up in his arms.

Avery stared at the familiar face of the man she loved and felt confused. Up until that moment, she had been so sure that she loved him, but now she did not want to see him tied to her and the trivialities of life. She hoped that he would always be a beacon of light shining brightly in the night.

Elliot carried her to the car and patiently buckled her in.

“Elliot, when are you planning to return to Aryadelle?” Avery looked at Elliot’s handsome face as she asked her question.

Elliot looked up and met her gaze. “Once you’ve recovered, we’ll return together.”

Avery shook her head. “Why don’t you go back today? Elliot, I don’t seem to know my own heart anymore. I see you and how much you love me, and I know that I should love you even more now, but right now, all I want to do is run away. I’m afraid. I don’t know what to do, or what I want. But I do know that I don’t want to drag you down with me. So, please, I’m begging you, go back! Go back to where you belong.”

Elliot looked at Avery’s pale face and said painfully, “You’re not afraid, and neither are you running away. I know that the baby is far more important to you than I am. You think that I would not care for our child. You don’t have any confidence in me. You think a j**k like me should end up alone!”
