Zoe was in Wonder Technologies, and she was telling Wanda everything.
Zoe was in tears, and Wanda looked livid.
“I don’t have that much money to give you!” said Wanda coldly. The money has been spent, and you can ask the finance department if you don’t believe me! Go see for yourself if we still have three hundred million lying around!”
Zoe gasped, “Of course you would say that you don’t have it when it’s not your life on the line! What you do if you were me?”
Wanda turned her back to her and said, “I’m not as foolish as you! You can’t even keep a hold of the money that you earn! If you are incapable of retaining money, then you should have taken your three hundred million and gone somewhere far away!”
“That’s not what you said when you begged me to invest in your company!” Zoe was burning with rage.
Avery had only given her three days. She had to gather three hundred million dollars within three days because the last thing she wanted was for Elliot to find out the truth. If he did, it would no longer be as simple as returning the money.
“What’s the point of telling me all this now?! If I had the money, I would have already given it to you! Do you think I’m giving you a hard time on purpose?!” Wanda studied Zoe’s flushed face, and she could sense that Zoe was spinning out of control. Continuing the argument would only lead to more trouble.
“Zoe, why don’t you ask your boyfriend and see how much he has? I will call finance again to see how much the company can spare… Okay?” Wanda’s tone softened.
Zoe’s eyes were filled with tears. “Cole is useless! I might as well come up with the money myself, rather than asking it from him! Call finance now!”
Wanda took a deep breath, picked up her phone, and called the finance department. As she was using the company’s internal line, the call immediately connected. “How much money can the company spare?”
How much do you need, Madam Tate?”
Wanda glanced at Zoe and muttered, “Three hundred million!”
“What?! Madam Tate, we don’t have that much! There is only a little over a hundred and fifty hundred thousand dollars in the safe.”
“Alright, I get it.” With that, she hung up.
“Wanda Tate, do you take me for a fool?” Zoe had taken out a dagger from her purse while Wanda was on the phone and pressed the blade against her neck.
Wanda froze, not daring to move. “Zoe! Put the knife down! I’ll give you the money! I will give it to you! Lower the knife!”
“No way! I will k**l you right now if you don’t transfer the money to my account right away! Wanda Tate, I’m serious! Elliot is going to come for my life if you don’t give me back my money! I don’t have a choice! I don’t have a choice!” sobbed Zoe as tears ran down her face. “I shouldn’t have come back here! My life wouldn’t have been ruined if I hadn’t come back!”
Zoe’s hand trembled and the tip of the dagger cut into Wanda’s skin.
A thin rivulet of blood ran down Wanda’s neck startling Zoe. She began screaming, “Wanda Tate! The money! Give me my money now! Otherwise, you are going to d*e! You are already bleeding! There is so much blood!”
Wanda had felt the cut too, and she was scared out of her mind.

Zoe ran out of Wanda Technologies an hour later. She quickly got into her car and drove away.
As she was driving, she slowly began to regain her composure.
She had gotten her money back, and it was in her account. She was immediately going to transfer it to Avery.
She had lost everyone. Apart from Elliot and Avery, there was still one other person that was responsible for her loss.
