“Why do you need to be the one to hold on to it? Are you his mother? Do you automatically feel motherly love when you see a handsome man?” snarled Elliot.
Avery furrowed her brows. Her mind went blank. She knew that it was impossible to reason with him. To avoid her losing her temper and waking the others in the mansion, Avery got up and walked over to him. “Let’s talk in the room.”
Elliot quickly got up from the sofa upon hearing what Avery said.
He clutched her arm and led her to his bedroom.
The moment the room door closed, Avery cut to the chase and said, “Elliot, I don’t want to waste my time on you. By tomorrow, I want to see Eric’s work back on the internet! You can hurt me, but you can’t hurt my friends! If you think I’m threatening you, then so be it!”
“Are you threatening me with the child in you?” Elliot’s gaze fell on her stomach. The smile she gave him was a mocking one.
Avery would never do a thing to hurt the child, so it was pointless to use the child to threaten him.
Smiling, Avery looked at him. She was secretly annoyed. “Elliot, you’re childish! Aren’t you the one who went on a business trip and ignored all my calls? Now you are forcing me to meet you. You are the most pathetic person I have seen!”
The smile on Elliot’s face vanished. “Is this really the tone you want to take when begging for my favor?”
“I’m here to talk to you, not to beg you. Don’t think that just because you’re rich you can decide how other people live! If you don’t undo the boycott on Eric by tomorrow, I’ll continue with the live stream!” Avery said. “I don’t think you would dare boycott me?”
Of course, Elliot would not do so. If he wanted to do something to her, he would have done so tonight— on the live stream.
Elliot looked at Avery’s slightly raised chin. He swallowed. “Continue live streaming?”
“Yes! I have already thought about tomorrow’s content!” Avery looked at the fire of anger raging in his eyes. She added fuel to the fire, aggravating him further. ” I’ll tell everyone who the child’s father is. Many people want to know who he is. I think this is a topic of great interest.”
Elliot pursed his lips. His breathing turned heavy. He did not mind her revealing that he was the child’s father, but he was worried that the revelation might jeopardize her and the child’s safety.
Avery saw that her threat did not scare him, and she knew that she had to come up with another threat.
“If you insist on boycotting Eric, I will no longer have anything to do with you.” Avery took a deep breath. “The live stream… many people wanted to know if the child belonged to Eric. Tomorrow, I’ll tell them that he isn’t the father of the child, but I’ll also tell them that I want to date Eric!”
Eric’s eyes suddenly turned vicious. Avery was so frightened she took a few steps back.
Just as she was planning her exit out the door, Elliot scooped her up.
If she was not pregnant, Elliot would have definitely thrown her on the bed. However, he had not completely lost it! He made sure to carefully lower her onto the bed.
“Elliot, you—”
“Shut up! I don’t want to hear a single word from you tonight! If you dare defy me, I’ll make sure that you won’t be able to get out of bed tomorrow!” Elliot sounded savage. He stared at her with red eyes.
Avery was so frightened she kept quiet.
That night was long and torturous. He released all of the anger and resentment in him.
After doing the deed, he touched her stomach with his huge palms. It was as if then only he remembered about the child in her tummy.
When he slept soundly, she carefully picked up his phone.
